I just finished up our company budget (whoo-hoo!). It doesn’t take long to think about where we have been, where we are at, and where we want to be. Ultimately, we are blessed to be of service to others!
We have been asking the following questions over the past month such as:
- Do you have any goals for 2018?
- What goals of 2017 were accomplished?
- How or why were goals not accomplished?
I learned a long time ago to not make daily goals but cumulative ones (ie. weekly, monthly, quarterly). With daily goals, sometimes we don’t see them to the end. Other times, we are motivated but lack accountability. These goals can be anything from financial to weight loss or spending more time with family.
Looking back on this year, I can see the accomplishments I have made but also my failures. There are a lot of things I wanted to do, or that I expected to happen which simply did not. It’s like the side mirror of our vehicles. When we glance at it, we use it as a reflection of where we have been and to make sure that nothing is coming up behind us. We don’t focus on them to move forward.
As a general statement, people lack vision. We get so caught up on the day-to-day events that we sometimes don’t plan for the future or when we do, it can be a little too late. Let me ask you this: What are your goals for 2019, 2020, 2023 or even 2028? Seems too far out? Maybe. But if you don’t think about where you want to be within those years, how are you going to create an action plan to get there?
Balancing goals and reality can be a difficult line to walk. With Purpose is helping people and businesses in this area and more. In addition to many other things we do, we help create a strategic and practical plan that is centered around people while implementing tasks to accomplish their plans and goals. Do you want more for you, your family, business and employees? Do you want to be developed organizationally and/or professionally? If so, contact us. We have opportunities for you and your business.
Let’s be thankful for where we have been but desire more from 2018. As we begin to dive into the goals and plans for this coming year, dream big while planning practically. Here’s to you in 2018!
