“A well known speaker started off his seminar by holding up a $20 bill. In the room of two hundred, he asked, “Who would like this $20 bill?” Hands immediately started going up.

“I am going to give this $20 bill to one of you but first, let me do this.” He proceeded to crumple the dollar bill up. He then asked, “Who still wants it?” Still hands were up in the air.

“Well,” he replied, “What if I do this?” And he dropped it on the ground, spit on it and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe. He picked it up, now crumpled and dirty. “Still want it now?” Surprisingly, hands still didn’t go down.

“My friends, I think we’ve all learned a valuable lesson here. No matter what I did to this money, you still wanted it because it did not decrease in value. It was worth twenty whole dollars no matter what I did to it.”

At times, we may feel that we have been dropped, crumpled, spit upon and ground into the dirt by the decisions we (or others) make as well as the circumstances that make their way in our path.  We may feel as though we are worthless. We may experience disappointment, uneasiness, guilt, anxiousness, or even hatred.

My friends, life is so much more than this! So, here is the moral: no matter what has happened or how trampled you feel, we do not lose our value. You are priceless because you have a purpose!  A purpose for why you are alive, a part of a family, where you work, who you associate with, and so much more.

What is your value?  What do you do to recognize your value?  Do you have someone that mentors, consults, or “coaches” you? This can be with you as an individual or your business. Here at With Purpose, we recognize the value and the potential in people.  Together, we draw it out so that they and others see their value.

How can we help you or your business?
